A Necessary Confession? The imbalance of suspect and victim assistance within the justice system and the challenge of morals and ethics.
Join us for this two-hour webinar delivered by Mr Keith Harbottle and DR Laura Dominique which explores a hard-hitting real life sexual abuse case led by Keith where a full confession by the suspect is considered to be the best result to prevent this case being heard in a Crown Court. The webinar will explore issues of police and Local Authority protection for children, potential imbalances of assistance between suspects and victims, in addition to police investigative interviewing in sensitive situations and disclosure to legal representatives. It will examine evidence presented by medical experts, challenges with the Crown Prosecution Service, the use of Registered Intermediaries and an exposure of morals and ethics to apprehend the suspect. A short Q and A session will conclude the session.
This webinar will be useful for anyone who wishes to learn more about evidence-based decision making within the justice system and is suitable for students, academics and practitioners alike.
